Bedtime

After a busy day on "the farm" Izzy asked to go to bed on her own. I walked her up, tucked her in and laid down with her for a few minutes like always. After being away from her all day at school, I was feeling particularly mushy and told her that I loved her and that she was my world. She reached up and twirled my hair and said "my Minnie is my world...and my piggy, and baby" Not quite the response I was expecting, but at least I know where I rank. Oh how I love my Izzy B.

Missing Chickens

The only thing Izzy knew for sure was that something was getting the chickens at Miss Adrien's house. Was it disease or a pesky rodent. Well, that depends on who you ask. Izzy proclaimed with all seriousness that the measles had gotten the chickens when in reality a weasel had found its way in. She didnt get what was so funny which made it that much more precious when she started laughing along with us.

The Birthday Balloon

Who knew a balloon held so many options. Over the past day we have played catch with our balloon, gone bowling with the balloon, experimented with static electricity, taken it for walks, thrown it down the stairs repeatedly, played "surprise" with it while driving no less, napped with it, and tucked it into a basket at bed time. The basket was mommy's call. Izzy B wanted it in bed. And of course it was the first thing she went for this morning. It's been a week since Baylee's party so its starting to shrink and shrivel. Oh yellow balloon with purple curly ribbon, how we love you so!

August 12

Daddy bought the Izzy B two books yesterday, both of them dry erase.  One teaches letters and the other numbers.  So I figure, let's start with numbers!  The result: a 2 1/2 yr old that still can't identify a single digit sporting a polka dotted leg.

Had a helper at school today which resulted in a box of crayons without tips, a crumbled up "m", and a picture just for me made entirely from sticky tack!

Bitty is napping on piggy now and mommy is enjoying a fountain drink hoping she wakes up dry!
